SUNY Niagara Press Release

SUNY Niagara is hosting hands-on technical experience designed to inspire and encourage girls aged 13 and up to explore careers in manufacturing. This interactive event, organized in partnership with dream it DO IT Western New York, will take place March 22 in the welding lab on the college’s Sanborn campus.

Participants will:

√ Learn all stages of the manufacturing process;

√ Weld and create a project to take home;

√ Meet women leaders in the manufacturing industry; and

√ Enjoy complimentary lunch and receive a limited-edition T-shirt.

“The SUNY Niagara welding department is committed to supporting women in the manufacturing industry and is proud to host this event,” welding technology program coordinator Joe Schmidt said. “If you have a daughter or know young women who might be interested in exploring manufacturing careers like welding and machining, this is a great opportunity for them to get hands-on experience.”

Registration for this event is required, and space is limited. Visit https://didiwny.com/event/girls-in-manufacturing-camp-2025-suny-niagara/ for more information.
