Continues with ‘Kelsea Ballerini Live On Tour’
Press Release
Black River's MaRynn Taylor is crisscrossing the country, performing at some of the country's most iconic arenas as part of the all-female arena show “Kelsea Ballerini Live On Tour.” Solidifying herself as an artist to watch, the fast-rising "female powerhouse" (Country Now) vocalist is giving fans what they want and is releasing new music with the highly anticipated fan-favorite, "same girl same," available to stream here.
Co-written by Taylor, Josh Kerr and Jason Saenz, Taylor announced the relatable track hours ahead of opening night for the 36-date “Kelsea Ballerini Live On Tour,” which kicked off in her hometown at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
The moody breakup anthem with flares of electric guitar, produced by Grammy-winning artist/songwriter/producer Kerr, has quickly become a fan favorite, as Taylor performs the song nightly to packed arenas across the country, including Nashville's sold-out audience in Bridgestone Arena.
" 'Same girl same' is something that I've always said. It means, 'That's so relatable,' " Taylor shared of the single. "When I was on tour last fall, a guy I had recently broken up with showed up at one of my shows with his new girlfriend. In the moment, I was upset with him, but more than that, I felt for the girl. I knew exactly what she was going through, and I related to her. Seeing someone with your ex comes with a lot of insight. Like you know what he's saying to her, the places he's taking her, the pickup lines – you know exactly what she's going through. That’s what 'same girl same' is about."
The new release has already earned spots on top playlists, including Apple Music's “Soundcheck” and “New in Country”; Spotify's “All New Country” and “Next From Nashville”; Amazon Music's “Breakthrough Country”; VEVO's “New Music”; and Pandora's “New Country” and “Women in Country.”

More about MaRynn Taylor
MaRynn Taylor moved to Nashville in 2019 to pursue music, and entered an almost dreamlike scenario. Caught in the rain during CMA Fest, she was serendipitously handed a flyer for Black River’s 60-second spotlight. That evening, she watched Music Fest from Black River’s suite at Nissan Stadium. On the day of the CMA Awards that year, she signed her recording and publishing deals with Black River during an on-air interview with Bill Cody on the legendary 650 AM WSM “Coffee, Country and Cody.” Now, country music’s fast-rising "female powerhouse" (Country Now) vocalist is on the road with Ballerini.
Last fall, Taylor joined Dylan Schneider as direct support on his "Bad Decisions" Tour where she shared her EP, “Get To Know Me,” featuring Taylor’s folk-infused radio single "How It's Gonna Go" live.
With nearly 46 million cumulative streams, 14 Telly Awards, and a CMT’s “Next Women of Country” (2023) nod, the rising star made her Grand Ole Opry debut in June of 2023 and returned to the coveted stage only weeks later. Her sassy "Make You Mine" "delivers big notes" (Billboard) and marks Taylor's first Top 50 hit on country radio.
“I genuinely care about people and their feelings. I’m a good listener and want to be there for people. There’s not enough of that in the world right now,” Taylor said.
Today, she is no longer the little girl dreaming on the front porch; Taylor is the voice ready to inspire a generation.
