Press Release
Maguire Automotive Group recently completed the sale of its Hyundai of Grand Island franchise to Niagara Hyundai, a division of Joe Cecconi’s Chrysler Complex of Niagara Falls.
The sale is a strategic move for Maguire, allowing the company to focus on its future growth while ensuring that the Hyundai brand remains a key part of the Buffalo-Niagara Region under Niagara Hyundai’s ownership and management.
As outlined in the sale terms, Maguire will retain ownership of the Hyundai property and facility located at 1910 Alvin Road on Grand Island. Niagara Hyundai will operate the Hyundai dealership franchise out of the existing location under a lease agreement, with plans underway to build a new, state-of-the-art Hyundai dealership facility in nearby Niagara Falls.
The addition of Hyundai to Cecconi’s current Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep Ram portfolio is part of the company’s long-term growth strategy aimed at enhancing customer experiences, and broadening the company’s footprint in the northern region.
Cecconi’s continues to be a staple in the Niagara Falls and greater Buffalo area, having served the area’s automotive needs for more than 60 years.
“We are thrilled to welcome Hyundai to our brand offering,” said Michael Jensen, owner of Cecconi’s Chrysler. “This acquisition strengthens our position in the Buffalo-Niagara Region, and we look forward to serving customers with even more options and top-notch service. We plan to grow the business in Grand Island, while building our new facility in Niagara Falls. When completed, we believe it will enhance the local automotive landscape, and we are excited for what’s to come.”
“We are excited by this transition, which we believe will greatly benefit the Grand Island and Niagara Falls communities,” said Phil Maguire, owner of Maguire Automotive Group. “By keeping the Hyundai brand in the area, we ensure customers will continue to have access to their preferred brand and services they trust. Meanwhile, our business can dedicate more resources to expanding and improving our two other franchises in Grand Island, which will help us better serve our loyal customer base.”
Maguire owns and operates Toyota and Chevrolet dealerships at its Alvin Road campus, and will continue to honor all prior warranty commitments at these locations.
With the transition from Maguire Hyundai of Grand Island to Niagara Hyundai, customers will be able to find new and used inventory, lease deals, schedule their service appointments and more at the new website, www.NiagaraHyundai.com.
Through this transaction, completed Feb. 6, Maguire intends to focus on reinvesting in the Western New York market.
"We remain in the expansion mindset, and continue to look for acquisition opportunities that will enhance the overall car-buying environment for customers in the region," Maguire added.
Cecconi’s intends to retain many of the dedicated staff who have served the Hyundai operation at Grand Maguire Automotive Group:
