Press Release
Jesse Dayton, a Grammy-nominated, Billboard chart-topping Austin-based renegade rocker, has uniquely mashed together East Texas blues, punk rock and old-school country since his 1995 debut. Dayton has collaborated and toured with the original outlaws Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson and Glen Campbell. Most recently, he released “The Hard Way Blues,” produced by Shooter Jennings through Hardcharger/Blue Elan Records.
Dayton isn't just an unsung hero of modern-day American music. He's a larger-than-life-storyteller who blurs the boundaries between genre and discipline, with a multi-decade career highlighting his work as a chart-topping songwriter, guitar hero, author, movie director, screenwriter, frontman, sideman, producer and road warrior. He's collaborated with artists of all stripes, from Samantha Fish – Dayton's duet partner on “Death Wish Blues,” the collaborative album that topped the blues charts in nearly a dozen countries during 2023 – to country music icons, rock ’n’ roll hellraisers (Guns 'N Roses' Duff McKagan, Glenn Danzig), and even horror movie filmmakers (Rob Zombie). Throughout it all, Dayton has saved some of his best work for his solo albums, resisting categorization even as he earns acclaim as a roots-rock renaissance man.
Dayton redefines himself once again with “I Am Jesse Dayton,” a blues-based rock record produced by Jennings.
He will perform at Town Ballroom on Dec. 6, supporting Tab Benoit, as part of the “Big Easy in Buffalo NOLA Series.” Click HERE for tickets or more information.
