Press Release

Award-winning artist and songwriter Mac Powell has released his new album, “I Love Jesus” today, celebrating the simple gospel message of what God has done in his life.

Listen to “I Love Jesus” now.

"With ‘I Love Jesus,’ I wanted to return to the simplicity of what I do," Powell said. "The gospel is a simple truth, and I wanted to share that in simple songs that remind us of the love of Jesus."

Excited about this album and believing this could be his best work to date, Powell returned to the simplicity of what he does with three- or four-chord songs sharing this core message. He stripped away the pressure of trying to make something fit into an ideal of what would be a hit single or a trend and returned to what he loves to share. The 11-track album features the released songs "Like It's Nothing," "Good News," "Keep On Keepin' On" and the title track.

Powell also contributed to the design of the album's cover artwork, another example of his passion for art. Last year, he released his first book, “The Soul Shines Through – The Surprising Spiritual Influences on Modern Artists.” This full-color volume reveals often unknown secrets about the lives of well-known artists such as Van Gogh, Picasso, Warhol and Chagall. Inspired by many museum visits over the years and research, it was co-written with Keith Ogorek and reached the Top 10 in religious arts and photography on Amazon.

“I Love Jesus” is Powell's second solo CCM project after his acclaimed three-decade career as the co-founder and frontman of Grammy-Award-winning rock band Third Day. His solo debut, “New Creation,” landed at the top of the Christian and gospel chart, and produced the hit radio singles "New Creation" and "River of Life."

Powell is currently on "The Awakening Tour" followed by the "United We Worship" tour with Danny Gokey, Tasha Layton and Seph Schlueter. Visit his website for all tour dates and tickets.
