Towne Hyundai of Orchard Park, a dealership of the Towne Automotive Group, presented FeedMore WNY with a $100,000 donation to support FeedMore WNY’s new campus project. The presentation was held at Towne Hyundai at 3525 Southwestern Blvd.

The generous donation brings FeedMore WNY’s capital campaign total to approximately $79.6 million raised for the future home of the hunger-relief organization.

FeedMore WNY’s new headquarters will be located at 4832 Camp Road in Hamburg, which is the approximate geographic center of FeedMore WNY’s service area of Erie, Niagara, Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties. The headquarters will house a larger commissary for FeedMore WNY’s prepared meal services, nearly double FeedMore WNY’s existing warehouse space, provide classroom and training space for FeedMore WNY’s free RISE workforce development program, include clean rooms to safely repack large food donations, and more growing spaces to cultivate and offer fresh produce to community members.

“Towne Hyundai and Towne Automotive Group are incredibly proud and excited to support FeedMore WNY’s capital campaign for its new campus,” said Frank Downing Jr., president of Towne Automotive Group. “For over 50 years, Towne Automotive Group has been honored to give back to the community through various partnerships, including our work with FeedMore WNY. With their new campus, FeedMore WNY will be able to better serve neighbors of all ages who are experiencing food insecurity. We encourage more businesses and community members to get involved in this vital project that will improve the health and well-being of Western New Yorkers.”

Towne Automotive Group and the Downing family have been longstanding partners of FeedMore WNY. They have supported FeedMore WNY’s mission to alleviate food insecurity in a variety of ways, including food drives and financial contributions.

When the Food Bank of Western New York and Meals on Wheels for Western New York merged to create FeedMore WNY in 2019, Towne Automotive Group used its 50th anniversary celebration as an opportunity to raise critical funds and awareness for the newly unified nonprofit.

Now FeedMore WNY is taking its next step forward with a larger, centralized campus to assist food-insecure neighbors today and for generations to come. Towne Automotive Group is once again standing beside FeedMore WNY to facilitate change and enable FeedMore WNY to provide dignity, hope and brighter futures to Western New Yorkers in need.

“On behalf of all of us at FeedMore WNY and the community members we serve, I want to extend our deepest thanks to Towne Hyundai of Orchard Park and Towne Automotive Group for this generous donation to support our capital campaign,” said Tara A. Ellis, president and CEO of FeedMore WNY. “Towne Automotive Group has been steadfast supporters of FeedMore WNY before and through our merger. Today’s donation shows Towne Automotive Group’s commitment to FeedMore WNY’s mission, our vulnerable community members, and our work to alleviate hunger and tackle root causes of food insecurity throughout Western New York.”

FeedMore WNY is continuing to raise funds for its mission-critical campus that will serve thousands of neighbors throughout its four-county service area. Donations of all sizes from individuals, corporations, community groups, and public and private partners are all welcome and gratefully accepted.
