Double-vinyl & CD plus digital album arrive 30 years after original release with bonus songs, previously unreleased & reimagined songs, remixes & more
Press Release
Six-time Grammy-winner Amy Grant's “House Of Love Expanded Anniversary Edition” is out today. Available in multiple formats, including (double) vinyl for the very first time with a signed and numbered insert, the LP includes 19 tracks: 11 original album tracks plus B-sides, remixes and a newly reimagined version of “Oh How The Years Go By” by Keith Thomas. It is also accessible as a double-CD and digital album with 30 tracks, including the 19 mentioned above plus additional remixes, radio versions and newly reimagined versions of “Helping Hand” by Tommy Sims and “The Power” by Keith Thomas.
"Gathering the materials for this expanded anniversary edition of ‘House Of Love’ brought a flood of memories back to me," Grant said. "Those days were full of dreams coming true and lots of irons in the fire. A circle of extended family and friends helped us share the load of caring for our young family, planning a big tour and creating music that would be the follow-up to the magical time of ‘Heart In Motion.’ We were managing the joyful chaos of life; riding a big wave and hoping not to wipe out. I love the songs on ‘House Of Love’ and am excited to release all the music made in that time … the B-sides, all the remixes and the newly reimagined versions of select songs."
A true goldmine for Grant fans, the anniversary edition features alternate versions of songs including “House Of Love” (Michael Omartian version), which was originally titled, “Any Amount Of Money”; as well as “Oh How The Years Go By” (Keith Thomas Version). For the listener, these versions provide a deeper glimpse into how a song can develop over time and be interpreted differently by the two producers of the original album. Additionally, there are bonus tracks included that were B-sides of radio singles originally released in limited distribution or only available in certain territories but are now available in this collection (including “Life’s Gonna Change” and “Politics Of Kissing”) Rounding out this edition are several remixes of radio singles, “Lucky One,” “House Of Love,” and the incredible cover of the Joni Mitchell classic, “Big Yellow Taxi.”
Most recently, Grant and husband Vince Gill released “When I Think Of Christmas,” a treasury of seasonal songs that capture the spirit of their much-loved “Christmas at the Ryman” concerts. The album contains remastered versions of nine of their yuletide favorites, plus two new recordings: “When I Think Of Christmas” (Amy Grant) and “ ‘Til The Season Comes ‘Round Again.” (Amy Grant & Vince Gill)
Grant is currently touring across the country through November leading up to Grant and Gill's annual Ryman residency each December. All tour dates, tickets and more can be found at AmyGrant.com.
