Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center Press Release
Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center announced the promotion of two key members of its leadership team, with Rick Braun Jr. stepping into the role of executive vice president and chief operating officer, and Matthew DuBois becoming vice president and chief financial officer, effective Oct. 20.
“These promotions reflect our commitment to strong leadership as we continue to grow and expand services for our community,” said Joseph Ruffolo, president and CEO of NFMMC. “Richard and Matthew have both demonstrated exemplary leadership skills and a deep commitment to the financial stability of our institution. We look forward to their continued contributions in these expanded roles.”
Braun, who has served as Memorial’s chief financial officer since joining the hospital in May 2022, brings a wealth of health care leadership experience to his new position. Before joining NFMMC, Braun was senior vice president of operations and chief operating officer for Upper Allegheny Health System, where he also served as senior VP of finance and chief financial officer, as well as regional chief financial officer for Kaleida Health-Twin Tier. A graduate of Canisius College with a Bachelor of Science in accounting, Braun began his career at Ernst & Young LLP, where he worked as senior manager.
As executive vice president and chief operating officer, Braun will oversee Memorial's daily operations, focusing on enhancing patient care, operational efficiency, service expansion, and key strategies that ensure the hospital continues to provide high-quality care as a critical safety-net provider for the region.
DuBois has served as NFMMC’s director of finance since October 2022, playing a key role in Memorial’s financial operations. He brings over a decade of financial management experience, having previously served as finance director for People Inc. and Deaf Access Services and auditor supervisor for EFPR Group CPAs LLP. DuBois holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting and marketing from Canisius College and has extensive expertise in managing financial operations, preparing financial statements, and ensuring FASB and GASB standards compliance.
In his new role, DuBois will oversee the financial management of NFMMC and its affiliates, including the hospital's foundation and skilled nursing facility.
