Empower Federal Credit Union named title sponsor of Next Generation United's 2024 Pitch10

The United Way of Buffalo & Erie County’s Next Generation United Pitch10 event offers 10 local organizations the chance to compete for a series of grant prizes.

Empower Federal Credit Union, a not-for-profit financial cooperative with branches across New York State, partners with the United Way of Buffalo & Erie County as title sponsor for its Next Generation United (NGU) Pitch10 competition event on Wednesday, Sept. 25.

NGU is a giving community for young professionals with a mission to identify, educate and empower leaders of tomorrow to be catalysts for change in the Western New York community through events and service. NGU’s Pitch10 marquee event reflects this mission as local organizations are selected and given the chance to connect with local professionals and compete for a series of grants to further activate their missions.

“Pitch10’s commitment to community empowerment and innovation aligns perfectly with our goals at Empower FCU as we seek to support local causes and foster meaningful change in Buffalo,” said Chris Keller, chief marketing officer. “It is our honor to support events like Pitch10 that provide local nonprofits with essential funding and visibility, as well as engage the community in philanthropy and drive collective action towards solving local issues.”

In 2023, NGU awarded a total of $50,000 to last year’s nonprofit pitchers, including Stitch Buffalo, Confident Girl Mentoring and Collaborative Center for Social Innovation. The 2023 competition year was the largest prize pool in Pitch10’s history.
