Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center announced its medical director of primary care services, Simmanjeet Mangat, M.B.B.S., M.D., an internist practicing in Niagara Falls, was elected a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (ACP), the society of internists. This distinction recognizes achievements in internal medicine, the specialty of adult medical care.
Mangat was elected upon the recommendation of her peers and the review of ACP’s credentials subcommittee and may now use the letters “F.A.C.P.” after her name to recognize this honor.
She has been affiliated with Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center since 2014 and is certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). Mangat graduated from Government Medical College in Patiala, India, where she earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 2014, and served as chief resident during her final year.
ACP is the largest medical specialty organization and the second-largest physician group in the U.S. ACP members include 143,000 internal medicine physicians (internists), related subspecialists, and medical students. Internal medicine physicians are specialists who apply scientific knowledge and clinical expertise to diagnosing, treating, and compassionate care for adults across the spectrum from health to complex illness.
