Anglers of all skill levels are invited to cast their lines in the 49th annual Greater Niagara Fish Odyssey, running from Aug. 16-25. The beloved fishing derby, showcasing the diverse angling opportunities in the Niagara Region, is still accepting registrations.
This year’s event offers competition across multiple fishing categories in both adult and youth divisions. With seven categories to choose from, participants will have the opportunity to compete for impressive prizes and recognition in the beautiful waters of the Niagara Region. Whether you're a novice or a seasoned angler, the Greater Niagara Fish Odyssey welcomes all participants. Out-of-state and out-of-province anglers are encouraged to join in the excitement, as well. The youth division, free for those 16 and under, and adults can register for just $10 for a one-day pass, making it easy to get in on the action
The derby features several enticing rewards, including:
√ A $700 award for the longest salmon caught by a Lake Ontario Trout & Salmon Association (LOTSA) member
√ Daily prizes valued at $100
√ $500, $300 and $200 payouts for first, second and third place in the adult division
√ A grand-prize drawing for $2,500, available to adult divisional winners
Participants will be able to track their catches and compete through the Fishing Chaos app, available on any smartphone. This streamlined system ensures a seamless experience for all involved.
