Daniel Lynch, 88, formerly of West River Road on Grand Island, and most recently of Heathwood Assisted Living in Williamsville, died May 6, 2024, at HighPointe on Michigan in Buffalo.
Born April 8, 1936, in North Tonawanda, he was the son of Thomas Lynch and Georgianna Spann. Lynch graduated from North Tonawanda High School in 1953, the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1967 – with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering – and Syracuse University in 1974 – with a Master’s degree.
He married Mary (O’Connor) Lynch on June 10, 1967, at St. Patrick’s Church in Watertown. Lynch worked for Union Carbide and Linde in Tonawanda.
Surviving are three sons: Tom (Linda), Jim (Jennifer) and Dan Lynch; five grandchildren (Megan, Thomas, Michael, Elly and Olivia); sisters Brenda Elin and Jennifer Lynch; a half-brother, Gig Spann; and half-sisters Pam Braun and Lori Spann.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Stephen R.C. Church on Grand Island at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 1.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the North Tonawanda History Museum.
