Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center announced Lisa Skalman, RN, as its new director of employee health. Skalman brings to the position over 25 years of experience in the health care field and holds numerous certifications related to health care and OSHA/occupational medicine employment compliance.
Before joining NFMMC, Skalman served as the director of clinical services at Comprehensive Occupational Medical Services in North Tonawanda for over 20 years, where she oversaw all outpatient operations and program services for the clinic.
Her earlier experience includes working as a primary lead RN at Fidelis Pediatric Home Care, where she was responsible for caring for and coordinating a special needs child, and as an LPN at Occupational Health Services of Western New York. Skalman was also the medical necessity department team leader at Complete Home Care Inc., where she performed duties that included processing documentation for patient in-home DME eligibility.
Skalman holds a Bachelor of Science in business management and economics from SUNY Empire State College, a registered nurse license from Genesee Community College Bridge Program, and an associate of applied science in medical assisting from Erie Community College. Additionally, Skalman is certified by the American Heart Association in BLS, AED and CPR.
A press release stated, “Skalman’s extensive experience, comprehensive knowledge, and numerous certifications will significantly enhance the medical center's employee health services, making her an invaluable addition to the NFMMC team.”
