National Fuel Gas Co. Press Release
The board of directors of the National Fuel Gas Co. Foundation, the charitable giving arm of National Fuel Gas Co., recently approved foundation grants totaling $207,000.
According to David P. Bauer, foundation president, and president and CEO of National Fuel, National Fuel is awarding grants to 35 nonprofits, including four community grant recipients, nonprofits nominated by our employee resource groups (ERGs) and “Days of Doing” partners.
“We are pleased to provide grants to numerous nonprofits from across our service territory,” Bauer said. “Although the missions of these organizations vary, each is providing critical work and helping to make our communities safer, healthier and more prosperous.”
In New York, Alfred State College’s heavy equipment operations program received a grant to purchase a mini excavator as well as to provide 25 students with scholarships to buy required tools. Tifft Nature Preserve also received funds for the East Canal ecological renovation project to restore 63 acres of habitat through invasive species management and revegetation efforts.
In Pennsylvania, Susquehanna Health Foundation and UPMC Wellsboro received funds to assist with purchasing a 37-foot community mobile health unit that will travel to rural communities to provide needed health care services. A grant also was awarded to Barber National Institute to support its accessible community pool renovation project.
