Council for Older Adults in Niagara County spring conference

Greg Olsen, acting director of the New York State Office for the Aging, will keynote the Niagara County Council for Older Adults (COA) spring conference. Olsen oversees the agency’s day-to-day operations and the administration of federal and state-funded programs designed to assist more than 4.6 million older adult residents in New York.

The full-day event runs from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. today at Antonio’s Banquet and Conference Center, 7708 Niagara Falls Blvd., Niagara Falls. It features a resource fair, three guest speakers, a keynote address, and luncheon. More than two-dozen vendors will be on hand to engage with 170 registered seniors for the event.

This year’s guest speakers include: Catherine Stack, N.D., C.N.M. – Journey II Health; Shelley Richards, genealogist – Niagara County Genealogy Society; and Amanda Irons-Rindfleisch, investigator – Niagara County Sheriff’s Department.

The COA in Niagara County is a program of the Health Association of Niagara County Inc. (HANCI.) The council is comprised of senior centers, senior clubs, and individual members whose mission is to provide educational, informational and recreational programs for older adults throughout Niagara County.
