On Tuesday, Buffalo City Mission received a $34,617.50 donation from Northtown Subaru as part of Subaru’s annual Share the Love event. CEO and Executive Director Aubrey Calhoun received the donation from Northtown Automotive co-owner Harold Erbacher during a check presentation ceremony held at the Amherst Northtown Subaru dealership.
"Our goal is more than just providing top-tier automobile services. We aim to drive change in our community, ensuring everyone has a chance to experience warmth and kindness,” Erbacher said. “Our Northtown family has always stepped up when there is a need, and looks to support the Buffalo City Mission with their efforts."
Buffalo City Mission was Northtown Subaru’s hometown charity of choice for the Subaru Share the Love initiative alongside four national charities. Funds were raised by new Subaru owners who could select one of five charities to receive a $250 donation from Subaru of America Inc. This year's contribution brings Northtown's cumulative donation to the Buffalo City Mission to $137,605.
“The Buffalo City Mission is truly grateful to be a recipient of the Subaru Share the Love campaign through Northtown Automotive,” Calhoun said. “This campaign could not align more with all that we try to do here at the Buffalo City Mission, and that is to share and show love to our most vulnerable neighbors. With inflation, poverty and homelessness on the rise here in our community and across the nation, gifts like this have a lifelong and generational impact on the men, women and children that we serve within our facilities. Thank you, Subaru, for your unwavering generosity and compassion for those most in need here in Western New York.”
