Top 10 high school graduates introduced at Board of Education meeting

The academic top 10 of the Grand Island Central School District’s graduating Class of 2026 was honored at the March 11 meeting of the Board of Education. Seven of the 10 students were at the meeting.

Grand Island High School Principal Hillary Kretz-Harvey introduced the seven students and asked them about their post high school education plan:

•Zainab Masoodi said she plans to follow a pre-med track, possibly with a major in biology, in the hopes of becoming a doctor.

•Emma Schoenrock said she intends to major in chemistry at either Niagara University or at SUNY at Buffalo.

•Kaleigh Lockett said she plans to join the five-year physician assistant program at Daemen University.

•Catherine Zach said she intends to study teaching English to speakers of other languages at Niagara University.

•Micaila Valle said she wants to study biochemistry on the pre-med track.

•Rachel Joseph said she plans to go to the Rochester Institute of Technology to study mechanical engineering.

•Kathryn Czyrny said she plans on studying aerospace engineering at either the Rochester Institute of Technology or at SUNY at Buffalo.

The three students who were unable to be at the meeting were Samuel Caster, Elijah Linenfelser and Patrick Kruse.
