There will be a Sung Latin Mass in the Ordinary Form for the feast of the Presentation of Our Lord at St. Peter R.C. Church at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2. Rob Pacillo’s Harmonia Schola will provide the music (Missa super Dixit Maria by Hans Leo Hassler, 1564-1612).
Traditionally, lit candles are held by the congregation at the beginning of this Mass, recalling the elderly Simeon’s recognition of Jesus as “a light to lighten the people.”
Immediately following the Mass, refreshments will be served in the school cafeteria. Both the church and cafeteria are handicap accessible.
