Lewiston Dance Center students recently took part in a new local dance convention at the Niagara Riverside Resort in Niagara Falls – Thrive Dance Convention.
There were two sessions: one for juniors ages third-seventh grades, and the senior session for ages seventh-12th grades. The dancers took three classes in each session and learned new moves and dance technique from Mr. Devonte and Ms. Toya of Toronto. When each session concluded, the instructors gave out awards and scholarships.
“We love the Thrive Dance Convention,” said Miss Lauren and Miss Angelina, co-directors of the Lewiston Dance Center. “It is affordable for the parents, with no charge for them to watch the classes. It is also only three classes, so the dancers get the most out of being with new instructors without the exhaustion that comes with the all-day convention format.
“We are so proud of our dancers – they stepped outside their comfort zone and did a fantastic job. Some of dancers even received awards and scholarships!”
