The Das Haus, Einhaus und Der Stall German Heritage Museum recently received a quilt of Das Haus. The work displays the garrison-style log cabin home dating to 1840 in Lockport, which was donated by Washington Hunt (along with 20-plus others) for the Prussian-Ukermark immigrants to Wheatfield in 1843.
The quilt was made in 2020 by Anne Stoeckel-Peck, seen here with her mother, Esther Stoeckel (nee Zimendorf). It will be on display at the upcoming Harvest Dinner on Oct. 28 at St. James Fellowship Hall. (Photos by Justin Higner)
