'The 80's Club: Honeymoon Suite, a Flock of Seagulls, Men Without Hats & Spoons' to play at OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino

Feel the love this February with “The 80’s Club: Honeymoon Suite, A Flock of Seagulls, Men Without Hats & Spoons,” as they bring the nostalgia and hits to the OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino at 7 p.m. Feb. 10, 2024.

Honeymoon Suite hit their stride in 1984 with their self-titled debut album and four charting hits in Canada: “New Girl Now,” “Burning In Love,” “Wave Babies” and “Stay In the Light.” Their follow up album, “The Big Prize,” was equally successful in Canada, with four more hits: “Bad Attitude,” “Feel It Again,” “What Does It Take” and “All Along You Knew”. Lead vocalist and guitarist Johnnie Dee (of Niagara Falls, Ontario) is sure to bring a little extra energy to a hometown stage!

A Flock of Seagulls may well be known for their haircuts as much as their hit single, “I Ran.” A Flock of Seagulls were one of the prime movers in the ’80s new wave era. Growing out of the synth-heavy and ruthlessly stylish new romantic movement. “Wishing (If I Had a Photograph of You)” became a Top 40 hit in 1983 – along with extensive references in popular culture. The band and haircut are referenced in “Pulp Fiction,” “X-Men” and “The Wedding Singer.”

With iconic chart-topping smash hits “Safety Dance” and “Pop Goes The World,” Men Without Hats bring to the stage a lot to get up and celebrate with classic hits and new ones from their recent albums – “Again Part 1” and “Again Part 2.” The former pays homage to artists past and present while the latter is original music with a heavy nod to the synth pop/new wave roots of the band.

Spoons, formed in 1980 as an intrepid young band from Burlington, Ontario, would soon make their name a different kind of household word. They would help define the sound of pop and new wave in the ’80s with hits such as “Nova Heart,” "Romantic Traffic," “Old Emotions” and “Tell No Lies.”
