Event to feature beer, wine, cider, kombucha, artisan food vendors
The Carnegie Art Center (CAC) will host “The Big Sip” event from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12. Tickets include craft beverage and wine tastings from Resurgence Brewing, Blackbird Cider, Tree Hugger Hard Cider, Noble Root Wines, and several other beer and wine vendors. A choice of souvenir pint or wine glass is also included with tickets. Light appetizers will be provided with the option to purchase additional artisanal goods from What’s Poppin Gourmet Popcorn and Blue Table Chocolates. The event will feature live music by Alex McArthur and guests can also enjoy the Carnegie Art Center’s galleries where “Fitted: Costume Design in Western New York” will be on display. In addition, there will be a free make-and-take art activity.
“The Big Sip” is a fundraiser organized by President Kristin Derby and board member Sarah Miller for the Carnegie Art Center. The CAC is a nonprofit organization that promotes and encourages the development of visual and performing arts. Through the presentation of exhibitions, concerts, performances, classes and other fine art activities, the Carnegie provides educational and cultural enrichment to the Western New York region.
All proceeds will benefit the CAC.
“The Big Sip” is an outdoor and indoor ticketed event for ages 21-plus. Tickets are currently for sale on the CAC website for $35. Purchase online at www.carnegieartcenter.org, in person by visiting the CAC, or at the gate. The CAC is open 6-8 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, and noon to 4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
