Press Release

Worship collective Jesus Culture has released their new album, “Why Not Right Now?.” The 14-song project, recorded live in Costa Mesa, California, is the group's latest project since 2020's two-volume “Church.” Celebrating Friday’s album release, a music video for "Let People Sing," led by worship leader Chris McClarney, accompanied the album. The video can be viewed below.

"We’ve been anticipating finally sharing ‘Why Not Right Now?’ with the world," shared Jesus Culture member and fellow worship leader Derek Johnson. "We’ve captured a fresh sound that marks a new season for Jesus Culture Music, and we’re hopeful it will inspire worship in the hearts of believers everywhere."

Jesus Culture founder Banning Liebscher added, "Very few albums over the past 18 years of Jesus Culture worship have stirred my heart at the level that ‘Why Not Right Now?’ has. Our heart has remained the same since the very beginning, and we want to see a generation encounter the presence of God and lift up the name of Jesus on the earth. We're believing for revival in our day! Our heart is to see the church ignited with a greater passion for Jesus, and for a world that doesn’t know God to encounter him."

More About Jesus Culture

Jesus Culture is a movement founded by Pastor Banning Liebscher in 1999 with a mandate to mobilize believers for revival in our day through churches, schools, resources, worship and events. The first Jesus Culture album, “Everything,” was recorded in 2005 and introduced a fresh sound of passionate live worship. Jesus Culture's second album, “We Cry Out,” featured worldwide worship anthems "How He Loves" by Kim Walker-Smith and "Your Love Is Everything" by Chris Quilala. In 2012 Bryan & Katie Torwalt released "Holy Spirit," which became a worldwide church standard, a Top-10 CCM radio hit, and Grammy Award-winner.

In addition to nine collaborative albums, Jesus Culture artists have released over 20 solo recordings from Bryan & Katie Torwalt, Chris Quilala, Kim Walker-Smith, Chris McClarney, Kristene DiMarco and Derek Johnson. Jesus Culture's “Why Not Right Now?” features anthems of revival that bring about a heart cry to see God move in this generation. More About Chris McClarney

McClarney grew up in the church as the son of a youth pastor and met Jesus at a very young age. When he was 14, he began leading worship for a small group, which then led to full-time ministry in local churches and inner-city ministry across Nashville. His powerful worship anthem, “Your Love Never Fails,” has become one of the most popular songs in America’s churches as reported in the Top 25 of CCLI and a No. 1 song on the Billboard Christian chart.
