Walker set to join ‘Mac Powell & Friends Tour’ this fall
BEC Recordings, on Friday, announced Grammy- nominated artist and songwriter Rhett Walker joined the label family. Additionally, Walker's first single with BEC, titled "Man on the Middle Cross," is out and available on all digital platforms. Listen here.
“I‘m incredibly excited for the opportunity to partner with Rhett Walker and his team," shared Brandon Ebel, founder, president and CEO of BEC Recordings/Tooth & Nail Records. "He’s a phenomenal artist and songwriter, and we can't wait to see what doors God opens next for him.”
Walker added, "It has been great to join the BEC Recordings team and immediately press the gas on creativity. I’m excited for the future as I look ahead at the road we’re paving."
Walker, who co-wrote the song with Matthew West, AJ Pruis and Matt Jenkins, was able to share his new song live last Wednesday when he appeared at the Grand Ole Opry, making it his 13th career performance on the legendary stage in Nashville.
“I came across a clip of Alistair Begg’s sermon on social media, and he was speaking about the two men on both sides of Jesus on the cross," Walker said about his new song. "The man on the right ends up in heaven. The angels in heaven, stunned, are asking, 'How are you here? You weren’t a follower of Jesus. You didn’t live a life worth gaining heaven.' And the man said, 'I don’t know how I’m here or where I am, but the man on the middle cross said I could be here.'"
Walker continued, "This message was such a reminder that grace and mercy have nothing to do with us. There’s nothing we could do to earn it, and nothing we could do to deserve it. It is only and has always only been about Jesus, who he is, what he did, and the grace that he continues to pour out, which is why I thank God for the man on the middle cross.”
Beginning in October, Walker will join the “Mac Powell & Friends Tour” where he'll get to share "Man on the Middle Cross" along with many of his previous hits, taking the stage with Powell, Jordan St. Cyr, and Brandon Heath. Be sure to visit his tour page to find a city near you.
