Not resting on the laurels of his recent work – the brand-new “Lewiston Landing” metal sign on North Water Street – Dan Buttery has again offered his creative talents to the municipality.
The artist and fabricator, in a proposed partnership with the Niagara Falls National Heritage Area, intends to design three custom-made blue benches that would be installed at Discover Niagara Shuttle stops along Center Street. “Lewiston” and the shuttle logo would be incorporated into the design.
If this project is accepted – and well-received – Buttery noted, “Eventually, maybe we could get more funding for more benches,” and different-colored ones, at that.
“Ever since I was a kid, Lewiston has always been a walkable community, plus with the bike path coming, with the shuttles, we want them to have these benches,” he told the Village of Lewiston Board of Trustees on Monday.
