On Friday, June 2, Dr. Sarah Chamberlain, a postdoctoral associate in the structural biology department at the University at Buffalo Jacob's School of Medicine, came to speak to the AP biology and physics classes at Grand Island High School.
As a former Grand Island student, she spoke of the pathway that she took from high school, through undergraduate and Ph.D. programs, and how that led her to her current position. She focused on her coursework and research throughout the years. Students were encouraged to take advantage of opportunities presented to them, even if outside of their original plan. She inspired students to continue on in science and to take a multidisciplinary approach to their studies.
