Press Release

Chart-topping country music singer/songwriter Ian Flanigan has released "Under a Southern Sky" today – the second single off “STRONG: The Muscle Shoals Sessions.” The full EP drops on July 28.

Flanigan said, “I’m from a small town, and ‘Under A Southern Sky’ is a song about celebrating the little things you only find in your hometown. This version was recorded in Muscle Shoals, another small town with a big music heart.”

All of this is on the heels of Ian’s picturesque performance last month at “Live in the Vineyard Goes Country” in Napa, California, where American Songwriter officially sang his praises. The article, which came out on May 9, gives its readers an inside look at the man Ian has become in recent years, in a piece aptly titled, 5 Things to Know About Ian Flanigan.

Continuing to tour across the country, music fans can find him performing at this year's CMA Fest, with show details posted here.

“Under a Southern Sky” from “STRONG: The Muscle Shoals Sessions” EP is available to download and stream on all digital platforms. Listen/stream/buy here.

Flanigan has consistently released fan-favorite singles such as “Grow Up” featuring Blake Shelton, “Last Name On It,” and “Under A Southern Sky,” showing not only his versatility as a singer but as a songwriter, as well.

Flanigan will perform at Artpark in Lewiston on Aug. 17, opening for Parker McCollum.

More About Ian Flanigan

Slow, stoic, southern grace is how Ian can be accurately described. He is humble yet focused, peaceful but engaged and undisputedly talented. For the last decade, he has toured his distinct voice and evocative lyrics across America, with a country sound reminiscent of Joe Cocker and Chris Stapleton.

Ian found fame by becoming Blake Shelton’s finalist on NBC’s “The Voice,” where he was dubbed a “once-in-a-lifetime vocalist” by Shelton. Since that time, he has released an album with chart-topping singles (“Grow Up” reached No. 5 on the U.S. iTunes sales chart with well over 3 million streams), extensively toured with the likes of Trace Adkins and Chris Janson, and will release his sophomore album, with more singles and videos being released throughout the summer.
