It finally looks like Mother Nature is going to cooperate with the Ransomville Speedway to get the 65th season of racing at the “Big R” underway this coming Friday night.
CanAmerican Stone Spreader and VP Racing Fuels will present opening night for the Krown Undercoating Modifieds, Hy-Tech Concrete Sportsman, KiPo Motors Street Stocks, Kevin’s Carpet Cleaning Novice Sportsman, and the Sunflowers of Sanborn Mini Stocks at 7:15 p.m.
The Hy-Tech Concrete Sportsman will race a 20-lap feature on opening night in honor and memory of Kyle Inman, who passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Kyle raced at the “Big R” numerous times in both the Sportsman and 358 Modified divisions. The KiPo Motors Street Stocks will race in a $500-to-win special.
Pit gates will open at 5 p.m. Friday, with grandstands opening at 6 p.m. Racing will begin at 7:15 p.m. General admission is $18 for adults, and $15 for seniors (60-plus, youth). Pit admission is $35 for members or $40 for non-members.
Thursday, May 11, will be the test and tune session for the “Little R.” Gates on Thursday open at 5 p.m. and karts will be on track by 7 p.m. Drivers are encouraged to bring transponders and one-way radios. Opening night for the go-kart program will now take place Thursday, May 18.
