Ronald McDonald House Charities of WNY announces new marketing & communications director

Ronald McDonald House Charities of WNY (RMHC of WNY) announced its appointment of Darlene M. Wilber as the organization’s new marketing and communications director.

A press release stated, “With 20 years of experience in marketing and communications, Darlene brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the organization. She has worked for several community-focused organizations across New York, including the Downtown Ithaca Alliance and Business Improvement District, Olean Times Herald, and the Bee Group Newspapers, where she was responsible for creating and implementing successful storytelling strategies that increased brand awareness and engagement. In addition, Darlene has extensive knowledge in event planning and grant writing.”

In her new role, Wilber will oversee all marketing and communication efforts for RMHC of WNY. She will work closely with its team to develop and execute marketing campaigns, create content for newsletters and special reports, manage social media accounts, and maintain relationships with media outlets.

"We are thrilled to welcome Darlene to our team," said Marianne Hoover, executive director of RMHC of WNY. "Her marketing and communications experience and skills will be invaluable to us as we continue to grow and expand our programs and services to help even more needy families."

Wilber said she is honored to join the RMHC of WNY team, and help further awareness of its mission to provide support for families with sick and injured children who are receiving medical care.

 "I am thrilled to be a part of this incredible organization in Western New York," she said. "I look forward to collaborating with the team to raise awareness of their vital work to support families during their most challenging times."

Wilber holds a Bachelor of Science degree in media/communications from Medaille University. She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America. Born and raised in Cheektowaga, Wilber currently resides in Clarence with her husband, Christopher. They have four young children, one dog, and one cat. In her free time, Wilber enjoys attending sporting events, concerts, and theater performances; enjoying the region’s cuisine (she is a foodie); spending time outdoors; and taking the family on vacations
