Jordan St. Cyr's 'Rescue' available now

Fri, Apr 14th 2023 11:20 am

A new song is available now from multi-award-winning Canadian artist and songwriter Jordan St. Cyr. Titled "Rescue" (BEC Recordings), click here to listen to the track.

St. Cyr, who penned the song with Jonathan Gamble and Justin Amundrud, said, " 'Rescue' was inspired by a two-week season where it felt like my family and I were being attacked on all sides. It started with the news of our youngest daughter potentially having eye surgery, our oldest daughter breaking her leg, myself losing a record deal, our youngest daughter battling seizures, our car breaking down twice, and all six of us getting food poisoning. Life felt impossible, but the promise of Jesus held true. When things got chaotic our rescue was his peace. He is the calm in the storm and his faithfulness never left us. Not even once."

"Oh I’ve been desperate / cried those loud prayers / Like Job on his knees sayin’ / Lord I need more than a little help / I’ve been surrounded / felt fear on all sides / Like Daniel and the lions / I know when I fight I don’t fight by myself / When I needed rescue / Jesus, You came through / Oh, in my hardest season, Your promise held true / Every time I’ve given in, Lord You prove it again / That You’re still my Savior now / Jesus, You came through when I needed rescue." – lyrics from "Rescue"

Along with releasing "Rescue," just last month St. Cyr celebrated winning his first Juno Award for Best Contemporary Christian/ Gospel Album of the Year for his self-titled debut with BEC Recordings. The annual awards show that honors all genres of Canada's top musicians, singers, songwriters and producers, followed his six-win sweep at the 2022 GMA Canada Covenant Awards, where he was awarded the most out of any other nominee, including top artist, album, and Male Vocalist of the Year. He also won Best Pop Song ("Fires"), Live Music Artist, and AC Artist of the Year.

St. Cyr continues to perform around the U.S. on Colton Dixon's “Build A Boat Tour,” which runs through mid-May. Visit his tour page for the latest tour dates.
