Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center names Marisa Prokop administrator of Schoellkopf Health Center

NFMMC promotes long-tenured employee to head administration services at its 120-bed short-term and long-term skilled nursing center

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center announced the appointment of Marisa E. Prokop, LNHA, MHA, BSW, as the new administrator of its Schoellkopf Health Center.

A press release stated, “Prokop brings over 20 years of health care administration and social work experience to the role. Prokop has been a valued member of the Schoellkopf Heath Center since 2007, most recently serving as Schoellkopf's assistant administrator.”

Prior to joining Schoellkopf, Prokop worked for seven years at Fairchild Manor Nursing Home and Rehab Center in several positions, including director of social work, admissions coordinator, and activities assistant.

A graduate of Niagara University, Prokop received a Bachelor of Science degree. She later went on to receive her Master of Healthcare Administration degree from Walden University. Additionally, Prokop attended D’Youville College to complete the additional education required to qualify for licensure as a nursing home administrator in New York state.

Schoellkopf Health Center offers short-and long-term care for individuals needing nursing or rehabilitative services. The 120-bed skilled nursing facility features all private rooms and provides intensive physical and occupational therapies, in-house dialysis services, and a calendar of intergenerational activities.
