The Taste of Buffalo presented by Tops announced Elizabeth Mamot, owner of travel planning agency Aventra, was elected chair for the 2023 event – which marks 40 years since the first iteration of the festival. Mamot will lead the planning efforts for the Taste of Buffalo, taking place July 8-9 along Delaware Avenue and Niagara Square in downtown Buffalo.

Mamot heads into her 10th year of involvement with the Taste of Buffalo, as she began as a volunteer on the restaurant committee before becoming a board member in 2014. She resides in Amherst with her fiancé, Benjamin Cohen, and their five children.

“I’m grateful, proud and excited to serve as chair for the 2023 Taste of Buffalo, and look forward to all of our attendees being able to enjoy local classics and discover their new favorite restaurants,” Mamot said. “For 40 years, the Taste has been one of Buffalo’s signature yearly events, and continues to showcase the incredible diversity that makes both our city and local food scene so special. Needless to say, we’ll be celebrating our 40th birthday in style!”

As part of the Taste of Buffalo’s 40th birthday celebrations, the festival will be announcing special giveaways leading up to the event. There will also be ’80s-themed music, entertainment and attractions.
