Destination Niagara USA launches Tourism Employee Spotlight Awards

Destination Niagara USA, the destination marketing organization for Niagara County, is seeking nominations for the inaugural Tourism Employee Spotlight Awards.

A press release stated, “Over 13,000 people are employed within the tourism industry in Niagara County, and the award is intended to recognize frontline employees who show a commitment to excellence in a lodging, restaurant, attraction or other hospitality-related position.”

Nominations opened for the Tourism Employee Spotlight Awards on Wednesday, and will be accepted through Monday, April 3. A $500 Visa gift card will be presented to seven winners during National Travel and Tourism week, which is May 7-13.

“Hospitality workers are vital to the regional economy, and this award is one small way we can acknowledge the efforts of those on the front lines of businesses in Niagara Falls USA,” said John Percy, president and CEO of Destination Niagara USA.
