Tune is second to release from group's March 24 debut album, ‘Other Side’
"Sing Hallelujah (The Victory Song)" from Stockholm Worship presented by Hillsong drops today. As the second song now available from their upcoming live LP, “Other Side,” it follows "Radical Love (The Joy Song)," which released last month and kicked off the album's preorder campaign.
"When we wrote 'Sing Hallelujah,' I personally had a very challenging season behind me," shares Stockholm Worship member and the song's lead, Jonatan Brandström, who co-wrote the song with Eric Liljero and Wilhelm Dahlroe. "Our longing was to write a song that helps us to turn our prayer, however broken and fragile the prayer might be, to praise! My favorite part is the bridge when we sing, 'Sin where’s your power, death where’s your sting now, hell where’s your victory, we know, we know who won,' what a powerful thing to declare whatever season you might find yourself in."

Stemming from the loss of his infant son, Brandström based "Sing Hallelujah" on 1 Corinthians 15:55. The song exclaims, “Sing Hallelujah Lift Him High/For He is risen from death to life/The grave defeated, He is alive/The Son of Heaven, Jesus Christ/Sin, where's your power?/Death, where's your sting now?/Hell, where's your victory?/We know, we know who won/Jesus Messiah/Champion of Heaven/Our King forever/We know, we know who won.”

It was last month when Capitol CMG announced their partnership with Stockholm Worship presented by Hillsong along with their 14-song live debut LP “Other Side,” releasing on March 24. For more than 15 years, Stockholm Worship, the creative team of Hillsong Sweden, has been leading worship every Sunday at its various locations around the country. Throughout that time, a desire and longing have been growing to bring forth new and fresh worship.
"We’re excited to tell everyone about this project that we’ve had in our hearts for quite a time now," the team shared collectively. "We call it ‘Other Side,’ not only because Stockholm is on the 'other side' of the world for most people, but mainly because there’s another side to whatever we’re going through when God decides to show up."
The album was recorded last April on Easter when the members of Stockholm Worship filled their city's iconic venue, Cirkus Arena. What came from that experience are songs with melodies and lyrics that express and capture the unique Swedish musical legacy.
A few of the songwriters involved in the project are Reuben Morgan (Hillsong Worship), Melody Wagner (Young & Free), Josh Grimmett (Goodboys), Eric Liljero (Cornerstone) and Nick Herbert (Worship Central), among many others.
Liljero, Stockholm Worship's creative pastor, said, "God has been breathing so evident on these songs and this project in our Hillsong church for months now. We’re so excited to finally tell the world about Stockholm Worship!"
