A recent $25,000 donation to local nonprofit FeedMore WNY complements the $30,000 donated in early 2022 through the bank’s program, which encouraged bank employees to receive an annual flu shot and/or coronavirus vaccine or booster, while also investing in the community.

Since the onset of the pandemic, Bank of America has provided a total of $55,000 to FeedMore WNY in support of local hunger-relief efforts. In addition, Bank of America contributed $20,000 to FeedMore’s Readying Individuals for Success and Employment (RISE) program, which empowers Buffalonians to achieve financial self-sufficiency and gainful employment through job-readiness training. RISE participants also receive Bank of America “Better Money Habits” training to help reach their financial goals.

Bank of America COVID-19 & Flu Shot Initiative

To address increased food insecurity due to the pandemic, Bank of America donated $50 per shot to FeedMore WNY for each employee in Buffalo who received a coronavirus vaccine or booster shot and/or flu shot before Nov. 23, 2022.

This contribution is part of the bank’s longstanding efforts to address hunger relief and support the health and safety of its employees and community.

Across the U.S. and Puerto Rico, Bank of America has committed nearly $19 million to local hunger-relief organizations as a result of the employee booster campaign.

Bank of America Grant Supports Workforce Development

The bank supports local organizations, including FeedMore and its RISE Program, to help identify and address barriers to gainful and sustainable employment opportunities for community members.

RISE is a free, eight-week warehouse and logistics skills training program that provides economically disadvantaged adults with the job experience and resources they need to achieve and sustain success in their careers, and beyond.

A press release stated, “In partnership with local Buffalo nonprofits, Bank of America is dedicated to promoting economic mobility through workforce development initiatives and programs like RISE.”

During a recent volunteer day, Bank of America employee volunteers packed emergency food boxes at FeedMore WNY and presented FeedMore WNY with $25,000 through the bank's employee booster campaign to support local hunger-relief efforts.
