Winter weather is in the forecast for this weekend’s Buffalo Bills game against the Miami Dolphins at Highmark Stadium, and AAA has tips for fans to prepare for a potentially unusual game. Here are some tips and advice for fans heading to Orchard Park on Saturday:

√ AAA is always on standby in the Buffalo Bills lots at home games providing light service (jump starts, tire assistance) to fans parked in stadium lots. AAA will have our usual crews there on Saturday.

√ AAA is preparing for a potentially unusual snow event at Saturday night’s Bills game – cars are rarely stuck in the stadium lots during a game!

√ AAA plans to have extra crews in the vicinity of Highmark Stadium to assist in private lots as well but, if the storm hits as predicted, expect delays for service with so much demand in a small area over a short time period.

√ AAA will need to tow cars that are blocking traffic first in order to assist with fan departure. Vehicles that are stuck in a parking spot will likely wait there until the lots clear.

√ Motorists should be proactive before heading out to the game:

  • Pack a snow shovel – if plows clear lanes during the game, you may come out and find a pile of snow blocking your vehicle in.
  • Have a new set of gloves and a hat to use during the snow removal process.
  • Have snacks and water to stay comfortable as you wait to exit the lot.
  • Make sure you have a winter emergency kit in your vehicle.

√ For fans driving to and from the game:

  • Fill up your gas tank before the game.
  • Go slow on ice and snow; use caution.
  • Brush off your entire vehicle before driving.

√ For fans tailgating:

Preserve your car battery – don’t leave the lights on in your vehicle, don’t use your car battery to play music or for other means (especially when the vehicle is not running). You don’t want to come out to a dead battery.

√ A Digital roadside request is the fastest way to request AAA service. Simply go to www.AAA.com/RoadService or download the AAA mobile app. To place a phone call, dial 1-800-AAA-HELP.
