4 top fishing professionals share their expertise

The Niagara Falls Convention Center will host the annual Greater Niagara Fishing and Outdoor Expo from Thursday, Feb. 16, through Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023. The goal of the event is to promote and teach fishing to anglers of all specialties, with exhibitions, classes and opportunities to connect with experts in the field.

Now in its eighth year, the Greater Niagara Fishing and Outdoor Expo has just added a brand-new Eastern Lake Erie Walleye School to the education schedule on Saturday, Feb. 18, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Destination Niagara USA Director of Outdoor Promotions Frank Campbell said, “As the walleye population on Lake Erie explodes, the quest for knowledge to target this tasty species is also increasing. The Greater Niagara Fishing and Outdoor Expo is offering the angling public a chance to lessen the learning curve at its walleye school.”

The school will be taught by Craig Sleeman, Lance Valentine, Ali Shakoor and Don Ruppert. These four of the top industry professionals and charter captains who will share their expertise on how to consistently catch more walleye, target larger walleye, use electronics to maximize their catch, and understand the impact of wind, currents, bait, water color, water temperature and light conditions have on catching walleye.

The cost of the Eastern Lake Erie Walleye School is $100, and includes food, drinks, and a full four-day admission pass to the Greater Niagara Fishing and Outdoor Expo. Those interested in participating are encouraged to register early, as attendance is limited. For additional details on the school and to register, visit www.niagarafishingexpo.com.
