The “Little R” at the Ransomville Speedway is returning to action in 2021. While the 2020 season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, 2021 is shaping up to be an exciting year of racing on Thursday nights, officials said.

Thursday night racing at the “Little R” begins with the practice session for all classes on May 6, with the opening day taking place May 13. Two special Monday races are on the schedule: June 28, leading into the 4th of July holiday weekend; and July 26, a full show will take place.

There will be no racing on July 1 and 29 (the day before the World of Outlaw NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series race). Season Championship night will be Thursday, Sept. 2, while the non-points race and banquet will take place Sunday, Sept. 12. The full schedule is available online at www.ransomvillespeedway.com

Go-kart memberships are $50 and for the drivers only. On race night, the cost is $20 to get in the pits for members and $25 for non-members. Additionally, members are eligible for track awards and/or point fund money at the end of the season. Pit parking reservations are also available for $50. Proceeds of the pit parking reservations go directly to the go-kart driver’s point fund. Anyone who has not received their membership packet and paperwork and those who would like to register for the 2021 season at the “Little R” can contact Ransomville Speedway General Manager Jenn Martin at 716-791-3602 or [email protected]. If paperwork is returned to the speedway by May 1, one will receive a free ticket toward a Burris Tire giveaway. Additional tickets may be purchased for $5 each. The free tickets will only be given away prior to and on May 1.

Rules and guidelines for the 2021 season are available by clicking on the karts section of www.ransomvillespeedway.com. Unless permission is granted by the speedway, all karters must race in the designated division.

“We are more than happy to work with those with less experience in regard to division placement,” Martin said. “We did not race in 2020 and we will review each case brought to us as a committee.”

The “Little R” is once again partnering with Burris Tires. Burris Tires are the “Official Tire of the Little R”. Burris will be providing $1,000 worth of items to be given away at the end of the season awards banquet. Point fund monies and prizes are distributed to current season members.
