The Schoellkopf Health Center is about to get a $300,000 facelift.

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center announced all three units at Schoellkopf, including the David’s Path Hospice Unit, will be included in work scheduled to begin Feb. 1.

Schoellkopf’s Five Star-rated facility and staff provide subacute care and long-term skilled nursing care along with rehabilitative services for patients recovering from surgery, stroke and other conditions and procedures. End-of-life care in David’s Path is provided in partnership with Niagara Hospice.

The center features all private rooms to provide dignity for all its residents.

“We know a facility that is homelike enhances the patient experience, promotes better health and aids in quicker recovery,” Memorial President and CEO Joseph A. Ruffolo said. “These upgrades are designed to make Schoellkopf patients and residents feel at right at home.”

The Schoellkopf project includes:

√ Needed facility repairs;

√ Hallway upgrades, including new decorative trim and top rails;

√ The removal of aged and fraying wallpaper from hallways and rooms; and

√ A fresh coat of paint for all 120 patient rooms.
