A press release stated, “As the only aquarium within 250 miles in the United States, the Aquarium of Niagara believes it’s important to make our programs, events and educational resources accessible to all members of the community. Despite suffering a nearly $1 million revenue loss during our COVID-19 related closure, the aquarium believes it is important to promote accessibility and provide a welcoming atmosphere for all as a quality-of-life asset and educational resource for the community.
“In 2020, the aquarium welcomed more than 4,000 people during a ‘716 Days’ weekend. Due to current COVID-19 related restrictions, the aquarium its operating at 25% capacity and using a timed-ticketing system to manage visitor traffic. Guests are required to book tickets online ahead of their visit to take advantage of the ‘716 Days’ promotion.”
