Company has added 52 employees since opening operations in 2018 for a workforce approaching 100

Pine Pharmaceuticals, one of the nation’s leading drug compounding FDA-registered 503B outsourcing facilities, recently announced the company plans to expand its operations at Riverview Solar Technology Park in Tonawanda. Since opening a new facility in 2018, Pine Pharmaceuticals has hired 52 new employees bringing the total workforce to 85 full-time employees.

The 50,000-square-foot expansion is contingent on Pine Pharmaceuticals receiving incentives from the Erie County Industrial Development Agency, and Excelsior Tax Credits through Empire State Development.

“Because of our significant growth of late, we simply need to expand our operations, including the need for more warehousing, manufacturing and quality control testing space,” said Alfonse J. Muto, Pharm.D., FIACP and owner of Pine Pharmaceuticals. “The continued support of the town, county and state is vital for the project to move forward, and we appreciate all of the support that we have been provided to date.”

The expansion includes the construction of cleanrooms for sterile manufacturing, warehousing space and office space for its quality department. Pine Pharmaceuticals provides products to hospitals and health systems, ambulatory surgery centers and medical practices across New York and the U.S.

Montante Construction, which built the original facility in 2018, will build out the expansion. Construction is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2021.
