Environmental Advocates Action recognized Assemblyman Sean Ryan for his dedication to environmental preservation. Last week, Environmental Advocates Action released its 2020 Environmental Scorecard, which records the environmental votes of all state lawmakers during the legislative session.  Ryan has received a perfect score for four years in a row.

Peter M. Iwanowicz, executive director of Environmental Advocates Action, said, “Assembly member Ryan represents a district on the front lines of climate change. His constituents live on the banks of Lake Erie, so he knows first-hand the effects of climate change-induced, prolonged weather events that lead to extensive flooding and the uprooting of people’s lives. His perfect score and sponsorship of a streams bill that protects more than 40,000 miles of waterways illustrate his dedication to clean water. Assembly member Ryan’s work in the Assembly has been substantial and we encourage voters to now send him to the Senate and put his strong environmental record to work there.”

Environmental Advocates Action’s 2020 Environmental Scorecard exists as a means to draw attention to state legislators’ records on the environment and hold them accountable for their actions or inaction. For the complete scorecard, visit www.eaaction.org.

Environmental Advocates Action (formerly known as EPL/Environmental Advocates) was founded in 1969 as one of the first organizations in the nation to advocate for the future of a state’s environment and the health of its citizens. It is the sister organization of Environmental Advocates NY.
