The Niagara County Department of Health issued the following update Tuesday on positive COVID-19 cases in Niagara County:

Erie County
As of Sunday, Erie County had 47 new positive coronavirus tests and a yearly total of 12,007 confirmed COVID-19 cases (including 178 on Grand Island and 5,687 in the City of Buffalo). To date, 458,653 people have been tested (2.6% positive), with 706 deaths attributed to the coronavirus. Also, 87,719 people have taken an antibody test (6.8% positive).

In a conference call Sunday, he said, “We've had an ongoing issue with Western New York, and it is not getting dramatically better; it's not getting dramatically worse, but it's not getting dramatically better, either.”
