Anne E. Passalugo has been named vice president of quality and corporate compliance at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center effective Sept. 28.
The newly created position is part of a restructuring being undertaken to more effectively meet the medical center’s oversight requirements in the areas of quality management, patient safety, accreditation and regulatory compliance, President and CEO Joseph A. Ruffolo said in announcing the appointment.
Passalugo is a graduate of the University at Buffalo, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology and a master’s degree in public health. She successfully completed the Harvard Business School’s executive education course in managing health care delivery.
Passalugo previously held a series of increasingly responsible positions at Memorial, including director of emergency management, director of risk management and chief quality and compliance officer. She most recently served as vice president of quality and compliance at iCIrcle Services of the Finger Lakes.
“Anne brings back to our health care system her vast amount of experience and expertise in corporate compliance and quality process improvement,” Ruffolo said. “Having lead our organization through two very successful HFAP accreditations and given her work performance in all aspects of corporate compliance and emergency management, Anne will be able to hit the ground running as we move swiftly through this phase of our corporate reorganization.”
Passalugo will report directly to the board of directors in the area of corporate compliance.
"Two of the most important areas of concern and interest to the board are quality and compliance. Because of her training, certifications and real-time experience, Anne has the confidence of the board in pursuing and reporting on these areas,” board Chairman James C. Roscetti said.
