In honor of National S’mores Day on Aug. 10, Girl Scouts of Western New York (GSWNY) will offer one free package of cookies including the famous Girl Scout S'mores cookies while supplies last.

For one day only, one free package of Girl Scout cookies will be given with any purchase made at GSWNY’s retail shops for curbside pickup and cookies must be redeemed through curbside pickup from 1-4 p.m. at the locations below:

√ Buffalo Service Center, 3332 Walden Ave., Suite 106, Depew

√ Jamestown Service Center, 2661 Horton Road, Jamestown

√ Lockport Service Center, 5000 Cambria Road, Lockport

√ Rochester Service Center, 1000 Elmwood Ave., Door 9, Rochester

National S’mores Day celebrates the nostalgic campfire treat known by millions around the world and composed of marshmallow, chocolate and graham cracker. In fact, Girl Scouts is credited with inventing the recipe when it was first introduced to the world in a 1927 Girl Scout publication.

GSWNY will also offer a free special virtual event – “Tell Me S’more About Girl Scouts” from 8-9 p.m. Aug. 10 – where families with girls in grades K-12 can learn about “some fabulous summer recipes with a s’mores theme, the benefits of Girl Scouts for families, how to be a community leader as a Girl Scout volunteer, understanding how Girl Scouting fits into a virtual world, the 1:1 support from GSWNY throughout the first volunteer year, and more.” The public can register for this free event at gswny.org or call 1-888-837-6410.

Girl Scouts of Western New York serves nearly 15,000 girls and 7,000 adult volunteers across the GSWNY jurisdiction, including Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Niagara, Orleans and Wyoming counties. The council’s administrative service centers are located in Batavia, Buffalo, Jamestown, Lockport, Niagara Falls and Rochester.
