Rebel Ride, an indoor cycling and strength studio in Amherst, is hosting a Zoom workout class July 25 to benefit The Community Action Organization of Western New York. The yoga-based workout, using optional light hand weights, costs $10 and can be purchased online at rebelride.com.
The class is a part of Rebel Ride’s “Zoom Workouts for a Cause” supporting the Black Lives Matter movement. All proceeds will go to CAO’s center services and recreation department, which is committed to building vital and healthy communities through a variety of services such as advocacy and outreach, capacity-building, translation services and other initiatives that can strengthen citizen participation.
CAO President and CEO L. Nathan Hare said the proceeds will help their center services locations continue to connect vital groups in the community – such as block clubs, parents, schools, seniors, businesses and organizations – with one another.
“We are thrilled to have a community partner like Rebel Ride showing such good will for a cause that is so important to Western New York,” Hare said. “This is such a positive way to not only promote health and wellness, but the value of bringing community assets together for a cause.”
Founder of Rebel Ride, Erika Brason said she wants the public to know these classes are for everyone.
“It’s all about moving for the movement, and we want the focus to be a celebration of people coming together,” she said. “Please join us.”
Rebel Ride features two studios under one roof and offers specialized classes for indoor cycling, and small group fitness incorporating TRX, Pilates and yoga-based classes. In addition, In-Trinity is a practice that combines yoga, Pilates and martial arts for a unique experience. Learn more at rebelride.com.
