The Kiwanis Club of Lewiston donated more than a dozen food packs to the village’s Department of Public Works on Friday. Each kit included a can of soup or ravioli, a reusable bowl, oatmeal, pudding, water and, of course, peaches – all courtesy of Kiwanian Dean Beltrano. In addition, Kiwanian Jan Mathews dropped off a tray of cookies.
Past President Marty Pauly said the club wanted to show appreciation to the DPW for all the work its members put forth for Lewiston – especially during the ongoing pandemic.
Beltrano said he noticed many area donations were going to medical staffs – and rightly so – but that the DPW team also was deserving of a special treat.
Superintendent Larry Wills said the gift was much appreciated.
