Coronavirus stats for May 18

Niagara County

Niagara County’s Department of Health issued the following update on positive COVID-19 cases in Niagara County:

  • 48 new positive cases (since Friday), for a total of 844 positives to date (isolations + recoveries + deaths)
  • 338 active cases (322 isolating at home, 16 in a hospital)
  • 456 recovered
  • 50 deaths
  • 7,645 people tested (source: https://covid19tracker.health.ny.gov/)

Erie County

As of 5 p.m. Sunday, Erie County had a total of 4,982 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 53 on Grand Island and 2,057 in the City of Buffalo. To date, 43,028 people have been tested (15.6% positive), with 421 deaths attributed to the coronavirus. Also, 26,680 people have taken an antibody test (7.7% positive).
