Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center raised over $275,000 at its annual fundraiser, The Premier, held Saturday, Jan. 18, at the Seneca Niagara Casino and Resort. This year’s event was co-chaired by doctors Rajinder Bajwa and Simmanjeet Mangat and Dr. Marnie LaVigne and Robert Fohl, and once again hosted a sold-out crowd of 960 people.
Honorees at this year’s event were Gerald Gorman, M.D., who serves as Memorial’s chief of emergency medicine, and Mary Alice Demler, WGRZ-TV Channel 2 anchor, who received the Nancy Gara Spirit Award.
The funds raised from this year’s event will support Memorial’s surgical services and the Thomas B. Golisano Medical Oncology Center, which will open on the Medical Center’s Tenth Street campus in late spring.
“The support of the community is overwhelming,” Memorial Medical Center President and CEO Joseph A. Ruffolo said. “We appreciate their continued trust in the Medical Center to provide exceptional health care, through all of our services, including surgical services, and our newest addition, the Golisano Medical Oncology Center.”
