Directed by award-winning filmmaker and long-time artistic collaborator Anton Corbijn, the release of “Depeche Mode: SPIRITS in the Forest” follows the band’s 2017-18 “Global Spirit Tour,” which saw them play to over 3 million fans at 115 shows around the world. The film’s theatrical release was an immediate hit, seen by over 220,000 people in nearly 80 countries. On its opening night at the global box office, the film landed in the No. 2 spot in Germany, Italy and the U.K. and No. 3 in Mexico. One of the strongest performing event cinemas of 2019, “Depeche Mode: SPIRITS in the Forest” global box office receipts totaled $4.5 million.
